About the Role
Destiny Prep Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of preschool-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote developmental milestones and prepare children for kindergarten.
Classroom Management: Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Maintain order and manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques.
Instruction: Teach basic skills such as colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and social skills. Encourage curiosity and exploration through interactive and hands-on learning experiences.
Assessment: Observe and assess children’s progress. Document and communicate developmental milestones, achievements, and any concerns to parents and the Preschool Director.
Parent Communication: Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers. Provide regular updates on their child's progress and address any concerns or questions.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate activities, events, and field trips.
Health and Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all children by adhering to all school policies and state regulations. Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Certification: State certification for teaching preschool (if required).
Experience: Previous experience teaching or working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans.
Attributes: Patient, nurturing, energetic, and passionate about working with young children.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry children and objects up to 40 pounds.
Ability to sit on the floor and interact with children at their level.
Ability to move around the classroom and playground quickly to ensure child safety.
Working Conditions:
The position involves working indoors in a classroom setting and outdoors on the playground.
Exposure to various weather conditions while supervising children outdoors.
Flexible hours, including occasional evenings for parent-teacher conferences and school events.
